Doxie Go gains wireless capabilities when equipped with an optional wireless SD card. Wireless SD cards fit in your Doxie’s SD card slot, and doubles as a memory card and Wi-Fi access point.
Doxie Go works with Eye-Fi X2 series and SanDisk wireless SD cards. Eye-Fi lets you transfer scans directly from your scanner to your Mac, PC, iPhone, or iPad. You can transfer scans over any Wi-Fi network, or, if you’re out and about, Eye-Fi creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot you can join from your mobile device. You can also configure your Eye-Fi card to send scans directly to cloud services like Evernote, FTP, and Flickr.
Eye-Fi works by adding wireless capabilities to digital cameras, and devices that act like digital cameras like Doxie Go – we built Doxie with Eye-Fi in mind, so it’ll transfer your scans to your computer or mobile device just as easily as it will photos from a digital camera.
Doxie is compatible with all Eye-Fi™ X2 series and SanDisk™ wireless SD cards. For advanced uses, or if you need help beyond documented use with Doxie, refer to Eye-Fi Technical Support.
Use of a third-party wireless SD card is optional. If you plan to use Doxie with a wireless SD card, it's important that you use Doxie the “regular” way first, via USB, before setting up your wireless accessory.
First, if you haven’t set up and used Doxie yet, please do so first before setting up the wireless SD card. It’s important that you’ve used Doxie the “regular” way first, via USB, before setting up Eye-Fi.
The Eye-Fi software is on the card itself. To install:
Insert your Eye-Fi card into the supplied Eye-Fi card reader (not into Doxie Go). Plug the reader into any free USB port on your computer, then wait for the card to mount.
For Mac users: Open the Eye-Fi removable volume from a new window in the Finder. Go to the START HERE folder, select Mac OS X, then open Eye-Fi to start.
For PC users: Choose the “Open folder to view files” option when prompted, or navigate to the card under My Computer. Go to the START HERE folder, then select the Windows folder. Double click the Setup.exe file to start.
Eye-Fi Center should launch after installation – it can also be launched from the Eye-Fi menu on the menu bar (Mac) or taskbar tray (Windows). There’s two parts of the Eye-Fi software: Eye-Fi Helper, which appears in the menu bar (Mac) or task tray (Windows) and downloads your scans; and Eye-Fi Center, which allows you to set up Eye-Fi. Once you’re done setting up, you can quit Eye-Fi Center – the helper will do all of the work.
Follow the steps to set up Eye-Fi. Remember, it might take a few minutes for your first images to show up. Once you’ve finished, proceed to follow the final setup steps for integrating with Doxie.
Once you’ve gone through Eye-Fi’s setup process, there’s just a few more steps to set up your Eye-Fi card for use with Doxie Go:
Re-insert the Eye-Fi card, open the Eye-Fi Center software, then click the “gear” icon that appears next to the card (on the left) to open the settings
Networks > Private Networks tab: Add your Wi-Fi network here if it’s not listed already. This will ensure that Eye-Fi uses your existing network if available, instead of creating its own by default.
Networks > Direct Mode tab: Turn this on so Eye-Fi can create its own Wi-Fi network when a configured private network isn’t available. This is particularly helpful when you’re away from your home or office. Turn on Direct Mode, then set both timeouts to 1 minute.
Transfer Mode > Endless Memory tab: Enable Endless Memory, and set the limit to 10%. This ensures that you card doesn’t fill up with images you’ve already transferred, which slows down scanning over time.
Now that you’re set up, it’s easy to scan wirelessly to your iPhone or iPad. Eye-Fi’s app for iOS finds your Eye-Fi on the network when you open the app, either via your private Wi-Fi network, or the direct Wi-Fi network that Eye-Fi creates when no other networks are around.
To connect and sync scans:
The Eye-Fi app downloads scans to your iPhone’s camera roll. Once the transfer is complete, you’re done in the Eye-Fi app. Any app that can access your photo roll can then access your scans downloaded from Doxie.
Photos (included with iOS 5) is the easiest way to organize and manage your scans. Just open Photos, then navigate to your Camera Roll to view your scans. From here, you can create new albums, edit your scans with built-in cropping and rotation tools, and send one or more pages via e-mail, text message, or to a printer.
Dropbox (App Store link) is a great way to store and syncs files between all of your devices. Simply add images from your photo roll from within the Dropbox app, and your selections will immediately sync to Dropbox’s online storage and to your computers.
Evernote (App Store link) stores your notes, documents, and more, then makes them available everywhere. Simply log in, then create a new Note from Camera Roll.
Facebook (App Store link) lets you share your scans with all of your friends.
Flickr (App Store link) is the popular place to store your photos. Just upload a new image from your Camera Roll, and select your scans.

Eye-Fi is a third-party product that adds wireless capabilities to digital cameras (and devices that act like digital cameras, like Doxie Go). Expect the setup process to take 5-10 minutes -- perhaps a bit longer than it took to set up Doxie itself. You’ll be up and running in no time.
The Eye-Fi software is on the card itself. To install:

Transfer Mode > Endless Memory tab: Enable Endless Memory, and set the limit to 10%. This ensures that you card doesn’t fill up with images you’ve already transferred, which slows down scanning over time.
Photos > Computer tab: You need to change the folder where images are written so the Doxie software can find them. By default, pictures are written to a folder called “Eye-Fi” in your Pictures folder. Click “Change folder”, then select the “Doxie Eye-Fi” folder, also in your pictures folder.
Doxie automatically creates the “Doxie Eye-Fi” folder in your Pictures folder the first time it’s launched – but if you’ve moved computers or since deleted that folder, you’ll need to recreate it before selecting it in the dialog:
On a Mac:
Macintosh HD/Users/yourname/Pictures/Doxie Eye-Fi
On Windows XP:
c:\Documents & Settings\yourname\My Documents\My Pictures\Doxie Eye-Fi
On Windows 7:
c:\Users\yourname\Pictures\Doxie Eye-Fi
There’s no need to access this folder directly – instead, simply launch the Doxie software on your computer, and it’ll automatically “pick up” new scans from this folder and import them into your Doxie scan library, just as if you’d physically connected Doxie or an SD card with scans on it to your computer.

Now that you’re set up, it’s easy to scan wirelessly to your Android device. Download the Android Eye-Fi app from Google Play and follow the steps to set up your device. Eye-Fi’s app for Android finds your Eye-Fi card on the network when you open the app, either via your private Wi-Fi network, or the direct Wi-Fi network that Eye-Fi creates when no other networks are around.
To connect and sync scans:
Your wireless SD card can transmit scans wirelessly to the cloud, straight to services like Evernote, Flickr, or an FTP server.
Direct To Cloud is an optional way to use your wireless SD card with Doxie. We generally recommend sending scans to your Mac or PC, then sending them to the cloud via the Doxie software. This gives you full access to the Doxie software’s features like automatic adjustment of your scans and OCR.
When you send direct to cloud, you’re uploading raw images with no cleanup or adjustment – keep this in mind when setting up direct cloud functionality.
Set up your Eye-Fi card according to the previous sections (For Mac/PC, or iPhone/iPad) first.
Open the Eye-Fi Center software, then click the “gear” icon that appears next to the card (on the left) to open the settings.
Photos > Online tab: Add the online services you want to use here. Check the “Share photos online” checkbox, click the “More Sites” button, then select “Online Service Category: All” in the popup menu at the top of the dialog. All of Eye-Fi’s wireless destinations will be displayed.
Select and add the services you want: You can add one or more services like Evernote, FTP, and Flickr.
Insert your wireless SD card into Doxie and start scanning directly to the cloud!
