Doxie Go (DX200) Firmware Update – July 2012
Doxie Go initially supported paper up to Letter/A4 size. Scanners sold after 1 June 2012 support paper up to 15 inches (38 cm) in length, including Legal size. Older scanners can be updated to support longer documents by installing the firmware update available on this page.
WARNING: Performing this update requires writing the new firmware file to a standard SD or SDHC memory card, such as those used by most digital cameras. Attempting to update the firmware by using anything other than a standard SD/SDHC card will void your warranty and may disable your scanner. Please reference the following table of storage devices.

1) Prepare the SD/SDHC Card
- Insert the SD card into your computer's built-in or external card reader. If you do not have a card reader, insert the SD card into Doxie's SD card slot, connect Doxie to your computer via USB, and then turn on Doxie Go. The SD card is now available on your computer as a removable disk.
- All files must be removed from the SD card. If there are any photos, scans, or other files on the card that you would like to save, please copy them off of the card before deleting them. Remember to empty your Trash (Mac) or Recycle Bin (Windows) to complete the delete process.
- The SD card must be in FAT16 or FAT32 format. The card is already in this format if it is new, or if it is used with Doxie Go, a digital camera, or a similar device.
- Download the DX200_Firmware_201207.zip archive. Open the zip archive to extract the CRSSCN08.rom firmware file (your browser may extract this file automatically).
- Copy the firmware file (CRSSCN08.rom) to the root level of the SD card. The firmware file must not be in a folder, and no other files may be present on the card. When viewing the contents of the SD card, you should see only the firmware file.
- Eject and remove the SD card. If Doxie Go is connected to your computer, disconnect it and turn it off.
2) Fully Charge the Doxie Go Battery
- Doxie Go charges via USB or the worldwide power adapter accessory. When charging via USB, make sure to use a powered USB port (e.g., a built-in USB port); low power hubs such as those commonly found in keyboards won't work.
- Doxie's power light is orange during charging and turns off when fully charged.
3) Install the Firmware Update
- Ensure that Doxie Go is turned off and doesn't have anything connected to it (i.e., USB cables, flash drives).
- Insert the SD card into Doxie's card slot.
- Press and hold the power button for about one second to turn on Doxie Go. The lights will flash while Doxie starts up, then remain solid during the firmware upgrade. The upgrade process typically takes about 30 seconds but may take a little longer with slower SD cards. Doxie will turn off automatically when the update process is complete.
- Remove the SD card from Doxie Go.
4) Remove the Firmware from the SD/SDHC Card
If your computer has a built-in or external card reader:
- Insert the SD card into your card reader. The SD card will be available on your computer as a removable disk. Open the SD card to view its contents.
- Delete the firmware file from the SD card. Remember to empty your Trash (Mac) or Recycle Bin (Windows) to complete the delete process.
- Eject and remove the SD card.
If your computer does not have a built-in or external card reader:
- Connect Doxie Go to your computer via USB, turn on Doxie Go, and then wait a few seconds for it to start up.
- Insert the SD card into Doxie's card slot. The SD card will be available on your computer as a removable disk. Open the SD card to view its contents.
- Delete the firmware file from the SD card. Remember to empty your Trash (Mac) or Recycle Bin (Windows) to complete the delete process.
- Eject and remove the SD card.
